Frank E Leard

Frank E. Leard, 68, retired Worthington-West Franklin School principal,
Worthington, Pa., died at 1:40 p.m. Friday September 3, 1965 in Allegheny Valley
Hospital, Natrona Heights, Pa.
 
Mr. Leard, who lived in Slate Lick, RD 1, Freeport, Pa., was born April 13, 1897
in Washington Township Armstrong County, a son of Linn and Mary (Tarr) Leard. He
never married.
 
He was a 1924 graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, Slippery Rock,
Pa.
 
A retired school teacher, Mr. Leard served as principal of Worthington-West
Franklin area schools from 1931 until his retirement in 1955, Worthington, Pa..
He was a World War I veteran and member of Worthington Lutheran Church,
Craigsville Independent Order of Odd Fellow (IOOF) lodge, Craigsville, Pa., and
Worthington Lion Club.
 
Mr. Leard leaves three brothers; Joseph Leard of RD 1, Freeport, James Leard of
RD 1, Knox, Pa., and Ira Leard of RD 1, Adrian, Pa.; and one sister, Miss
Lillian Leard of RD 1, Freeport. A number of nieces and nephew also survive.
 
Friends of Frank E. Leard of RD. 1, Freeport, who died Friday Sept 3, 1965 will
be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in James A. Flick
Funeral Home, Worthington, and in Worthington Lutheran Church from 12:30 p.m.
Monday until time of service at 1:30 , with pastor James M. McCormick
officiating, assisted by Rev. John Sheppard, pastor of Slate Lick United
Presbyterian Church, Slate Lick, Pa.
 
Burial will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
