Kevin Paul Sloan
Kevin Paul Sloan, 32, ~ Omaha, Neb., formerly of Worthington, Pa., died Sunday,
October 5, 1997 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
He was born April 6, 1965 in Kittanning, PA., to Herbert E. and Lucille D.
(Rupp) Sloan.
He was a "Class of 1983" graduate of Worthington High School, Worthington, PA.
Mr. Sloan was serving in the United States Air Force and was in his 14th year of
military service.
His military assignments included Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; Sheppard Air
Force Base, Texas; Langley Air Force Base, Virginia; Southwest Asia (Persian
Gulf); and Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
He was the recipient of the following awards and decorations: the Defense
Meritorious Service Medal; the Air Force Commendation Medal. 1 Oak Leaf Cluster;
the Air Force Achievement Medal. 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; the Air Force Outstanding
Unit Award, 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, 3 Qak Leaf
Clusters; the National Defense Service Medal; the Southwest Asia Service Medal,
2 Devices; the Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon; the Air Force Longevity
Service Award Ribbon, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; the NCO Professional Military
Education Graduation Ribbon, 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; the Air Force Training Ribbon;
the Kuwait Liberation Medal, (Saudia Arabian Government); and the Kuwait
Liberation Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Hall) Sloan; four children, Joanie Sloan,
Michael Sloan, Dustin Sloan and Jeramiah Sloan, all at home; his parents of
Worthington; four brothers, Gary D. Sloan of McKees Rocks, Pa., David H. Sloan
of Petrolia, Pa., Terry Sloan of Aliquippa, Pa., and Bryan Sloan of England; and
four sisters, Gloria Sloan of Williamsburg, Va., Mary E. Johns of Petrolia,
Linda C. Davis of West Kittanning, Pa., and Mona G. Murray of RD 2, Kittanning.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Sloan and Roger Sloan.
Funeral services were held with the Rev. Donald Hebrank, offciating.
Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
