Alta J Heilman Hogg

Alta J. Heilman Hogg, 87, of Kittanning, Pa. (Garrets Run), died Monday,
September 1, 2014, at home, with
her family at her side. 

She was born May 10, 1927, in Kittanning, a daughter of the late Noble W. and
Zelma M.
(Campbell) Heilman, and was a lifelong resident of the community. 

She was a retired school teacher who taught first grade in the Armstrong County
School District. Her first, first grade teaching job (1947) was at
Worthington-West Franklin School, Worthington, Pa. 

She was a member of Heilman Emanuel Lutheran Church (Garretts Run Road, Ford
City, Pa.) and ADK, Eastern Star, WELCA, PSERS and Three Rivers Bernese Mountain
Dog Club. 

Survivors include her daughter and friend, Janice Ann Breaux and Mike Burns, of
Michigan; grandsons, Corey Andrew Breaux, of North Carolina, and Jesse Breaux,
of Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Amy L. Stephens (Carl J.), of Kittanning;
granddaughter, Shannon N. Stephens, of Kittanning; nephew, Richard Heilman, of
Pittsburgh; niece, Pamela Heilman, of Philadelphia; her faithful friends, her
dogs, Tray and Jackson; and her close friend and loving caregiver, Kami. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence
Walter Hogg, whom she married July 22, 1950; and her brother and sister-in-law,
Ray G. Heilman and Barbara.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014,
at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning and from 10 a.m. until the
time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin L.
Mackey officiating. 

Interment in Kittanning Cemetery, with lunch following at Heilman Emanuel
Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heilman Emanuel Lutheran Church in Alta's
memory.
