James Gilbert Shields

James Gilbert Shields, 40, of Palmas Del Mar Humacao, Puerto Rico, died
Thursday, May 11, 1995 at his residence.

He was born October 9, 1954 in Kittanning, Pa. (Armstrong County), to James
"Arthur" and Patricia Irene (Reighard) Shields.

He was a 1972 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Mr. Shields was formerly employed as an accountant for BCE Corporation of
Rockville, Md.; and was formerly employed in the Register and Recorder Office of
Armstrong County, Kittanning; he was the former owner of both, the Market Square
Restaurant, Kittanning and Cieply's Bar & Grill, Ford City, Pa.

He was a former member of the following organizations; the greater Kittanning
Jaycees; the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival, Board of Directors; the Armstrong
County Historical Society and the Kittanning Public Library Board of Directors.

He is survived by his father, James "Arthur" Shields of Worthington; one sister,
Mrs. William C. (Elizabeth Irene) Evans, Jr., of Kittanning; one niece and one
nephew; and his companion James L. Ruffner of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Irene (Reighard) Shields, who
died on September 9, 1989.

Friends of James Gilbert Shields, 40, of Palmas Del Mar Humacao, Puerto Rico,
who died Thursday, May 11, 1995, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday at the Bauer Funeral Home, A Community Care Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N.
McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday,
May 15, 1995, with his cousin, the Rev. Harry E. Shields, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Salem Cemetery, Limestone Township, Clarion
County.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to any of the
organizations that he was involved with.
