Samuel Orman Claypoole
Samuel Orman Claypoole, 70, of Worthington, passed away Monday, December 26,
2022, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born August 30, 1952, in Kittanning, to the late Lloyd O. and Edith J.
(Younkins) Claypoole.
He was a 1970 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Samuel was a member of the Center Hill Church of the Brethren and a very active
member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen and Beagle Club.
He loved being with his children, hunting, and sitting under our maple tree on
his swing waving to every passing car. But his most beloved treasure was his
grandchildren, Blake Michael, and Brinleigh Kaufman.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Hawley) Claypoole; his
daughter, Jennifer Kaufman; and his son, Matthew Claypoole; sisters: Judy
Weight, Jennybelle (Duke) Bowser and Kathy Peat, all of Worthington;
sisters-in-law: Wilma (Arthur Dale) Barnhart, of Kittanning, Susan Hawley, of
Lebanon, Pa. and Lucinda Hawley, of Worthington; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edith Claypoole; in-laws,
Thomas and Wilma Hawley; brothers-in-law, Thomas, Harlon “Bud,” John and
Homer Hawley, Barry Weight and Donald Peat.
A memorial service for Samuel will be held at the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s
Club at a later date.
