Donald Edwin Peat

Donald Edwin Peat, 59, of Worthington, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, in
Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, after a two year battle with cancer. 

He was born November 11, 1950, in Kittanning, a son of the late Edwin and
Dorothy (Slagle) Peat.

He was a 1968 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

Donald worked for Eljer Plumbing in Ford City for 34 years. 

He was an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War with the 25th Infantry. 

He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Kittanning Men's Club.
Donald loved painting and spending time with his family, especially his boys and
grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathy A. (Claypoole) Peat, whom he married Feb. 19,
1977; sons, Donald E. Peat Jr. and his wife, Victoria, of North Carolina, and
Brady S. Peat and Kristen, of Worthington; grandchildren, Cody Peat, Dylan Peat,
Kolston Peat and Kolby Peat; sisters, Linda (Peat) Long and husband, Paul, of
Worthington, Deborah Hooks, of Kittanning, and Marci Verner and husband, George,
of Worthington; brother, Richard Roy Peat and wife, Susan, of Kittanning;
great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Gary
Wayne Peat, who died in December of 1962; and father and mother-in-law, Lloyd
and Edith Claypoole. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the F. DUANE
SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday with Pastor James Edwards officiating. 

Interment in Center Hill Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa.
