Nancy Lee Stewart Walton

Nancy Lee Stewart Walton, 67, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly at 5:54
p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Indiana University Health La Porte
Hospital, La Porte.

She was born on October 2, 1948, in Worthington, PA, to Adam Harvey and Sarah
Elizabeth (Myers) Stewart.

She was a 1966 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Nancy is a member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Michigan City, and
Red Hat Society. She started Respiratory Therapy in 1968, inspiring her to get
certified as a Respiratory Therapists in 1986. Nancy had retired from St.
Anthony Hospital in 2008, and La Porte Hospital in 2010, also formerly working
for Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. She was currently working for Options DME,
La Porte, with six years of service. 

She was an aggressive bird house collector. She loved to spoil her two pets,
Buck and Yoshi.

Surviving are four children, Tim Walton of Virginia, Jeff (Diana) Lingenfelter
of La Porte, Jayson Lingenfelter of Michigan City, and Jennifer (Donald Jr.)
Sims of Kingsford Heights; one brother, Miles (Carol) Stewart of Fort City, PA;
brother-in-law, Morris (Margaret) Walton of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Hazel
Stewart of Butler, PA; eight grandchildren, Doug (Laura) Brunner, Amanda (Cody)
Kindig, Sarah (Josh) Davis, Amber Walton, Adam Lingenfelter, Kaylee (Seth
Brinsfield) Sanders, Kelsi Sydow, and T.J. Walton; four great grandchildren,
Brianna, Jude, T.J., and Preston; special close friends, Dawn Wilkenson, Angie
Prassas, Chamaine Devereaux, and Carol Scissom; and many nieces and nephews.

On December 20, 1973, at Camp Pendleton, in California, she married Wilburn
Walton, who precedes her in death.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; infant son, Mark Lingenfelter;
brother, Larry Stewart (1/18/2007); in-laws, Wallace and Shirley Walton; and
nephew, Randy Stewart (1/11/2011).

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, November 28,
2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219)
362-3100 with Pastor Terry McKinney officiating. Visitation and viewing will be
held from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
