James Raymond Anthony JR

James Raymond Anthony Jr., 18, Worthington R.D. 2, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday
night, October 8, 1964, in Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, of injuries he
suffered in a one-car accident August 24. The fatal crash occurred on Route 268,
five miles north of Kittanning, in Armstrong County.

The youth was the driver of a car which failed to negotiate a curve in the
highway, struck a guardrail and overturned. A passenger, David G. Booher, 23,
Kittanning R.D. 7, suffered a back injury in the accident, which occurred at 11
p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24.

Kittanning State Police, who investigated the accident, said Anthony suffered a
fractured left leg and a puncture wound to his left side. The car, valued at
$100, was demolished.

Born January 31, 1946, in Kittanning, he was the son of James R. and Virginia M.
(Pauline) Anthony, Sr.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Michael Anthony of Kittanning; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. James R. Anthony, Sr. at home; three brothers, Robert J, Edward F., and
Michael B. Anthony, all at home; five sisters, Mary E., Marian E., Deborah A.,
Kathy F., and Deanna L., all at home.

Friends of James R. Anthony Jr. will be received at the James A. Flick Funeral
Home in Worthington after 3 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday. The service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday from the funeral home with
Rev. James M. McCormick, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
