Harry John Stroud
Harry John Stroud, 61, of Chambersburg, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September
17, 2008, in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born August 19, 1947, in Kittanning, a son of the late H. John II and
Margaret Catherine (Lewis) Stroud.
He was a 1965 graduate of Worthington High School and went on to attend Butler
Community College. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Slippery
Rock University in 1974, and his Master of Education degree from Shippensburg
University.
He was currently in his 35th year of teaching with the Chambersburg Area School
District.
He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Stewart Stroud, whom he married June 8,
1974; four children, Rebecca S. Kotula and her husband, Christopher, of Vermont,
Cathy E. Stroud, Julie R. Stroud and Kristy L. Stroud, all of Chambersburg; and
three grandchildren, August N., Owen D. and Merrit E. Kotula.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the THOMAS L.
GEISEL FUNERAL HOME, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the
Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
