Margaret Ellen Grafton Slaughter

Margaret Ellen (Grafton) Slaughter, 59, of Rochester, New York, passed away
Wednesday, June 11, 2003 after a 29 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

She was born July 14, 1943 in Worthington, Pa., the daughter of Lawrence E. and
the late Anna M. (Bowser) Grafton.

She was a 1961 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

All of her formative years were spent in Worthington where she attended the
Worthington Baptist Church.

Margaret attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York, 1961 - 1964.
She was employed for a short time at IBM in Endicott, New York. She taught
school for one year in Pensacola, Florida, prior to her marriage to Robert W.
Slaughter of Endicott, N.Y.

Margaret was diagnosed with MS on her 30th birthday. She suffered for 29 years,
the last 10 years of her life were in a nursing home completely helpless. She
never lost her sense of humor.

She is survived by her father, Lawrence E. Grafton of Clermont, Fl. formerly of
Worthington and Butler Pa.; three daughters, Lani S. (Michael W.) Roscoe, Amy L.
Andrew, and Nikki Stanley all of the Rochester area; grandchildren, Devon and
Hannah Roscoe and Brian Stanley; one brother, Jerry Lee (Sharon L.) Grafton of
Valparaiso, Ind.; two sisters, Geraldine Gale (Jennings R.) Graham of Clermont,
Florida, previously of Butler, Pa., and Norma Jean (Gary D.) Graham of Prospect,
Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews; and the father of her children.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Paul W. Harris
Funeral Home, Inc., 570 Kings Highway South (corner of Titus Avenue), Town of
Irondequoit, Rochester, New York, where her funeral service will be held on
Saturday at 4 p.m., June 14, 2003.

Private Interment Town of Irondequoit, Irondequoit Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
