William Eugene Black

William Eugene Black, 68 of Elderton, Pa., died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at
ACMH Hospital, East Franklin Township, Kittanning, Pa.

He was born February 7 1941 in West Lebanon, Pa., (Armstrong County) to Arthur
Glen and Theda Agnes (McManus) Black.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

A life long resident of the area, Bill attended St. Jacob's United Church of
Christ.

He previously was employed by Wayne Sell Trucking where he worked as a truck
driver. 

Bill honorably served his country by enlisting in the Navy. 

He was a life member of the VFW Post #4843 of Ford City and a member of the
Elderton Fire Department and Fire Police, Elderton, Pa. Bill enjoyed fishing,
trucking and most of all making those around him smile. 

He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Townsend) Black, whom he married October 29,
1983; two sons, William E. Black JR and Charles Black; one daughter, Dorothy
Black; two brothers, James Arthur Black of Charleston, SC and Alan Wayne Black
and wife, Darla of Worthington; five sisters, Ruth Jane Alwine of Butler, Pa.,
Louise I. King and husband Jerry of Bolivar, Pa., Maxine Ann Mullins and husband
Mike of Lorain, Ohio, Dorothy "Nadine" Szul and
husband Terry Lee of Rural Valley, Pa., and Francine Cessna and husband Fred of
Kittanning; several grand children, great-grand children, nieces and nephews; in
addition to two special little girls, Alexis and Brynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Paul Black; three great
nephews, Lyle James Cessna JR, Jesse Jaden Black and Ezra Paul Black and great
niece Catherine Mullins.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the CLARK CHAPEL
of the BAUER FUNERAL HOME INC. 238 S Main Street, Elderton, PA. Additional
visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11
a.m. in St. Jacob's United Church of Christ with Reverend Herman Ridley
officiating. 

Internment will follow in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, Pa.
