Donald Wesley Ellenberger SR

Donald Wesley Ellenberger, Sr., 35, of 1408 Appleton Avenue, Independence, Mo,
died Saturday, February 11, 1977, in Nevada, Mo., apparently of a heart attack.

He was born in (Redbank Township, Armstrong County), New Bethlehem, Pa.,
September 17, 1941, a son of Henry Leroy and Catherine Elizabeth (Hayes)
Ellenberger.

For some time, he lived with Frank W. Roofner and Mary Ellen (Brown) Roofer on
the Roofner farm, Cowansville Road, Worthington, Pa. At this time, he attended
Worthington-West Franklin school, Worthington, Pa.

He moved from this area and lived in Las Vegas, Nev., area and then 16 years ago
the family moved to the Independence, Mo., area. He was an engineer for the St.
Louis and San Francisco Railroad. He was a member of the Fairmount Christian
Church and the Independence Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Ellenberger leaves his wife, Joyce Elaine (Vaughn) Ellenberger, who he
married July 1, 1961; a son Donald Wesley Ellenberger, Jr.; two daughters, Miss
Bonnie Lee Ellenberger and Miss Dawn Irene Ellenberger, all of the home; three
brothers, Clarence Leroy Ellenberger of Baltimore, Md, Daniel Blair Ellenberger
of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lawrence Arthur Ellenberger of Kansas City, Kan.; and
two sisters, Miss Esther Mae Ellenberger of Drexel Hill, Pa., and Miss Vera Faye
Ellenberger of Greensburg, Pa.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 13, 1977, at the Carson
Independence Chapel, Independence, Mo. A Masonic service will be at 7:30  p.m.
Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday,
February 14, 1977, also at the Carson Independence Chapel.

Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Mo.
