Ronald Arthur Baker

Ronald Arthur Baker, 79, of Worthington passed away on September 3, 2021. 

Ron was born, January 1, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan to Arthur and Lillian
(Press) Baker. 

The family returned to the Worthington Area, where he was a 1959 graduate from
Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, PA.

He worked for Pullman Standard after graduating. 

Despite his father’s doubts, Ron decided to venture into the gas patch to make
a living. That turned into an over forty-year adventure of drilling and
producing natural gas and oil wells as a co-founder and president of Baker Gas,
Inc.

Ron was well known throughout western Pennsylvania for his expertise in the
industry, and wisdom in business. He formed many business partnerships, and
encouraged others in their entrepreneurial pursuits. 

While always working, he also acquired many hobbies throughout life, such as
hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and an occasional stiff drink and
Marlboro. 

He was a member of Seneca Lodge #805, Coudersport Consistory, Syria Shrine, and
Elks Lodge #203.

Ron is survived by his wife Patricia (Rapp) Baker, his sons, Timothy (Gretchen)
Baker and Michael (Jennifer) Baker, and his grandchildren Brody, Kellyann,
Evelynn, Jack, Laurel, and Brynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillian, brothers Thomas
Baker and Gary Baker.

Funeral arrangements will be private and have been entrusted to the F. Duane
Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington.
