Sara Emabelle Booher Grates
Sara Emabelle Grates Fenelton formerly of Worthington Sara E. (Booher) Grates,
76, of Fenelton, formerly of Worthington, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, in
Ridge View Personal Care Home.
She was born May 13, 1936, in Kittanning, daughter of the late Emmanual Booher
and Bertha (Fails) Booher Toy.
She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
She was a housewife and resided in Worthington all her life. She liked spending
time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Harry Booher, of Templeton, Gary Grates, of
Freeport, Dan (Marcia) Grates, of Butler, and Norman (Mischelle) Grates, of
Worthington; daughter, Barbara (Bill) Stover, of Kittanning; 13 grandchildren,
Bobbie Jo, Jonathon, Stephanie, Chelsie Booher, Gary, Alysia, Edward, Zack,
Devon, Brandon, Natalie Grates, Angela and Scott Miller; six
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Hartman and Irene Beers.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in deathby her husband,
Norman H. Grates; an infant daughter; grandson, Harry Charles Booher;
daughter-in-law, Tina Grates; brothers, Chuck, Bill and Paul Booher; and sister,
Pauline Anthony.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the
SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNREAL HOME, in Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held
from 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home
with the Rev. John Snyder officiating.
Due to allergies in the family, memorial contributions may be made in lieu of
flowers to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA
15205-4620, in Sara's honor.
