Allen Robert Snyder
Allen Robert Snyder, 60, of Gahanna, Ohio, went to be in God's loving arms on
Sunday, September 17, 2000 at The Ohio State University Medical Center,
Columbus, Ohio.
He was born March 4, 1940, in West-Franklin Township, Worthington, Pa., to Elton
E. and Mildred Buena (Shick) Snyder.
He attended Worthington-West Franklin elementary and junior high until his
family moved in 1954, after the Limestone Mines closed in Buffalo Valley.
He was a member of the Stoneybrook United Methodist Church.
He retired as Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and a salesman with Honeywell.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Reta M. Snyder; sons, Sean J. (Lori)
Miller, Columbus, Ohio, Chris Snyder; mother, Mildred B. Snyder of Tavares,
Florida; sisters, Doris Marie (James) Aiken, Leesburg, Florida, Joan Louise
(Gordon) Wood , Leesburg, Florida; brothers, James Elton (Joyce) Snyder,
Leesburg, Florida, John Arnold (Jean) Snyder, Sellersville, Pa.; grandchildren,
Ashley Hixon; special Pop-Pop to Dustin and MaKaylea Miller; many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elton E. Snyder.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051
East Johnstown Rd., (on Rt. 62, 1/2 mile east of Hamilton Rd.), Gahanna.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at Stonybrook
United Methodist Church, 485 Cherrybottom Rd., Gahanna Dr. The Dr. Gary W. Exman
officiating.
Interment with military honors at Mifflin Township Cemetery, Gahanna, Oh.
