James Clair Smith

James Clair Smith, 77, of Cabot passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at Butler
Memorial Hospital. 

He was born May 20, 1939, in Slate Lick, he was the son of the late James and
Jessie M. (Somerville) Smith.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

He worked as an operator for Local 66 Operating Engineers. 

He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley M. Watson Smith, whom he married Sept.
28, 1968; his children, Tad Smith and his wife, Judy, of New Kensington, Don
Smith of Kittanning, and Joni Smith of Corpus Christi, Texas; his stepchildren,
Sean Darling of Mexico and Seth Riley of Clark, Pa.; eight grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy
Wyant of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Smith;
and his brothers, Roy and Robert Smith.

Friends of James Clair Smith, who died Monday, October 10, 2016, will be
received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St.,
Saxonburg.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Ruby
Sue Wilkosz officiating.

Interment will follow at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Sarver, Pa.
