William Earl Blose

William Earl Blose, 55, of Kittanning, formerly of South Buffalo Township, died
at 3 p.m. Monday, February 19, 1996, at Allegheny General Hospital in
Pittsburgh.

Born November 7, 1940, in Craigsville, Armstrong County, he was the son of Earl
and Vivian (Bowser) Blose.

He was a 1958 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

He received a bachelor's degree in education from Clarion University and a
master in education with a principals certificate from the University of
Pittsburgh.

Mr. Blose had been employed by the Freeport School district since 1962 and was
the principal of South Buffalo and Freeport elementary schools.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Freeport. He also belonged to
Phi Beta Kappa, the Freeport Kiwanis where he served as treasurer for 23 years
and the Freeport F&AM Lodge. He was also a volunteer for the Freeport Area Food
Bank, Boy Scouts and the South Buffalo Little League.

He was a member of the Armstrong and Freeport Child Welfare Board and a former
board member of Armstrong County Mental Health Association. He was named Man of
the Year for 1983-84 by the Freeport Area Women's Jaycees.

Surviving are his wife, Donna D. Blose; two daughters, Mrs Marty A. (Elizabeth)
Johnson of Kansas and Mrs. Blake (Laurie) Glenn of New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs.
Kenneth (Noreita) Wolfe of Cowansville and Mrs. Francis (Harriet) Welnetz of Fon
du Lac, Wis.; two brothers, Edward L. Blose of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dennis J.
Blose of Kittanning; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Brewer, June 7, 1993.

Friends of William Earl Blose, who died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, will be received
from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Richard L. Redmond
Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport. Visitation will also be held from 6 to 9
p.m. Thursday at the Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church, Beale Road, Buffalo
Township, where funeral services will follow at 9 p.m. with the Rev. John P
Kuert, church pastor, officiating. 

Private graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lawn
Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.

Memorial donations may be made to the William E. Blose Scholarship Fund for
Students of Freeport Area School District. c/oIntegra Bank, Freeport.
