Ronald Edgar Shay SR

Ronald Edgar Shay Sr., 63, of Fenelton died Thursday, March 7, 2002 at West Penn
Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born January 10, 1939 to Edgar and Lillian Irene (Bowser) Shay. 

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

A self-employed mechanic, Mr. Shay worked in Fenelton and was formerly employed
by Pullman Standard. 

He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, and an
active member of East Butler Fire Department. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and performed as a country singer for
several bands. 

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carol Ann (Welter) Shay of Fenelton;
three sons, Dennis Lee Shay of Connequenessing, Gregory A. Shay and Darin R.
Shay, both of Fenelton; two daughters, Cindy L. Macdonald of Fenelton and Debra
L. Shay of Butler; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary
L. Shay of Fenelton; and a sister, Vicki Bembem of Rural Valley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald E. Shay, Jr.; and a
brother, Charles Shay. 

Friends of Ronald E. Shay Sr., 63, of Fenelton, who died March 7, 2002, will be
received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at F. Duane Snyder
Funeral Home, 424 Bear St., Worthington. Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Monday at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, with his pastor,
the Rev. Louis Pascazi, officiating. 

Interment in Saint Johns Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fenelton, Pa.
