Lavera Marie Blank Johns
LaVera Marie Blank Johns, 85, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at home on
Sunday, April 2, 2023.
She was born October 26, 1937, in Elizabeth, PA to the late Francis and Irene
Blank she was the third of four children.
She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
LaVera was a great mother and grandmother. The holidays wwere always a special
time for her, she loved making a big supper with a homemade pie to finish the
meal. This Easter will be a time of remembering those special family moments.
She had many hobbies; she loved knitting, square dancing, card games, and
quilting. She loved going out with the girls to eat and talk. She will be deeply
missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Chambers Helm Johns of Worthington;
their children Douglas (Tammi) Johns of Georgia, Clifford Johns of Ford City,
Melissa (Donald Bupp) Johns of Worthington, Matt (Janine) Johns of Washington,
PA; 12 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren; brother Darrel Blank of
Connecticut.
LaVera was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Pam Stewart; brothers
Francis and Nick Blank.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the F. Duane Snyder
Funeral Home in Worthington from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral
service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 am in the funeral home
with Pastor Alex DeRosa officiating. Additional visitation will be held from
10:00 am until the time of the service.
The interment is in the Brush Valley Brethren Church Cemetery.
