Ruth June Smith Gaggini

Ruth June Smith Gaggini, 83 of Worthington, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023,
at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot. 

She was born September 18, 1939, in Worthington to the late Ben and June (Shay)
Smith.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Ruth retired from Moonlight Mushroom Mines in Worthington after 25 years. 

She attended the Community Bible Church in Sagamore. 

She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and lap robes which she donated to many
nursing homes in the area. She loved bird watching, especially her bluebirds,
she also raised African Violets and Roses. Ruth and her husband enjoyed
traveling the country, they have been out west, to Canada and Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years whom she married May 1, 1969, Joseph
L. Gaggini of Worthington; son Woody (Sally) Kirkwood of Kittanning; daughter
Karen Nulph of Worthington; son Roy Kirkwood of Adrian; several grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; brother Earl Smith of Butler; sister Esther Neubert of
Worthington; brother Wayne (Nancy) Smith of Worthington; brother in law Norman
Gaggini of Kittanning; many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brother Carl Smith and his wife Carol
Smith; infant brother Ronald Smith; infant sister Linda Smith; sister-in-law
Shirley “Peg” Smith; brother-in-law Paul Neubert.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan
Hospice in Cabot and Quality Life Service Sugarcreek for their friendly and
compassionate care of Ruth.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the F. Duane Snyder
Funeral Home in Worthington from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral
service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 am in the funeral
home with Pastor Sue Foster officiating, with additional visitation from 10:00
am until the time of the service. 

Interment is in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
