Margaret Anne George Baptiste

Margaret Ann "Peg" Baptiste, 73, of Fenelton, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011,
at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. 

Born January 24, 1938, in Worthington, she was a daughter of the late Charles
Alfonzo and Grace Marie (Bonner) George.

She was a 1956 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

She was a homemaker and was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, where
she had been a CCD teacher, had been a volunteer and co-chairman for the Funeral
Dinner Committee, was a member of the Marian Guild and Legion of Mary, the Happy
Hunters Club in Fenelton, had worked at the Herman Vol. Fire Department raffles,
in the kitchen and selling tickets, and enjoyed going to garage sales, baking,
collecting and caring for others. 

Surviving are her two sons, Dennis M. Baptiste and Michael C. Baptiste and his
companion, Shannon Barr, all of Fenelton; two daughters, Diana Baptiste and her
companion, Tim Bauer, and Karen Hodak and her husband, John, all of Butler;
three grandsons, David Rodgers Jr., Daniel Rodgers and Guyd Baptiste; one
great-grandson, Joshua; one brother, Gary George, of Kittanning; and a
son-in-law, John Walton, of Virginia Beach, Va. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman N. Baptiste, whom she married
Aug. 13, 1960, and he died Jan. 18, 2000; one daughter, Michele Walton, who died
in April of 2011; an infant daughter, Kylie; three brothers, Charles, Carl,
Frank and one sister, Eva Mae. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the GEIBEL
FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated Friday in St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville. 

Interment will follow St. John's Parish Cemetery, Coyleville, Pa.
