Joanne Carolyn Claypoole Double

Joanne Carolyn Claypoole Double, 78, of Chicora died Sunday, December 3, 2014,
at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following an illness.

Born in Worthington, Armstrong County, on September 28, 1936, she was the
daughter of the late Robert Claypoole and Ruth (Hepler) Claypoole.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

She had worked at Waltman Furniture Store in Chicora as a sales lady and
cleaning lady for 15 years, retiring in 1997 because of ill health.

She was a member of United Methodist Church of Chicora and a member of Chicora
Women of the Moose.

She married Curtis R. Double December 1, 1956, and he died July 12, 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelley Barnhart and her husband, Steve, of
Chicora; sons, Robert Double and his wife, Tammy, of Chicora and Patrick Double
and his wife, Cheryl, of Chicora; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant
son, and a step-granddaughter, Angela Barnhart.

Friends of Joanne C. Double, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, will be received at
STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets, Chicora, from 2
to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. 

The Chicora Women of the Moose will have a memorial service at 6 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home officiated by
Rev. Jim Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the VNA Inpatient
Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
