Katherine Ann Kolar Barbor
Katherine Ann "Kathy" Kolar Barbor, 62, of 5615 Bobolink Trail, New Market,
Maryland, died Sunday, November 28, 1999 at her home after an extended illness.
Born May 13, 1937, in Worthington-West Franklin Township, Worthington, Pa., she
was a daughter of the late Vinko and Mary (Peterson) Kolar.
She was the wife of Russell C. Barbor, her husband of 42 years.
She grew up in Buffalo Valley and attended Worthington-West Franklin High School
until the family moved to Ohio after the school year of 1954.
A member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown, Md., where she
served with the Ladies Club. She was also a member of the Frederick Women's
Civic Club.
She was formerly employed with the Montgomery County Government in the county
Executive's Office as an executive assistant for 20 years, retiring in 1995.
She was an avid golfer.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters; Jacalyn Giloertson and
husband Gene of Rockville, Md., Jayme Claxton and husband Roy of Germantown,
Md., and Janine Henderson and husband Douglas of Cabin John, Md.; one son,
Russell V. Barbor and wife Jill of Martinsburg, W Va.; five grandchildren,
Russell W., Justin A. and Kelley G. Giloertson, Katherine J. Claxton and Madison
Barbor, and two brothers, Robert James Kolar, Sr. of Canfield, Ohio, and John P.
Kolar of Girard, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Kolar.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Nov. 30, at Hartzler
Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road. Libertytown, where Christian wake services
will be held at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Dec. 1, at St.
Peter's Catholic Church, Libertytown. with the Rev. John Dietzenbach as
celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Libertytown, Md.
