Donald Roy Bowser
Donald Roy Bowser, 83, of West Franklin Township, passed away, Tuesday, January
26, 2021 at Grey's Colonial Acres.
He was born June 9, 1937 in West Franklin Township to the late Roy K. and Anna
(Moore) Bowser.
Donald graduated in 1955 from Worthington-West Franklin High School. Math was
his favorite subject.
Don was a lifelong farmer. He milked cows until 1976, then raised beef until
2014. Farming was his passion.
In 1975 Don married Shelby Jean Doverspike at Concord Presbyterian Church. All
their married life they were dedicated members of the Franklin Union Baptist
Church.
They had two daughters, Jenifer in 1976 and Cindy in 1981. Don loved classic
cars, his favorite being a red 1966 Cadillac convertible. He and Jen spent many
weekends at car shows and cruises.
Don is survived by his daughter Jenifer (Jon) Bevington; daughter Cindy (Cliff)
Brison; grandchildren Damaris Bevington, Brett, Luke, and Jeremiah Brison;
sister Shirley Williamson; sister-in-law Shirley Doverspike; along with several
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shelby Bowser; parents Roy and Anna Bowser
and brother-in-law Ralph E. Williamson.
A private viewing and service will be held by the family at the F. Duane Snyder
Funeral Home in Worthington with Rev. Scott Jones officiating.
Interment will be in the Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington,
PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Donald's honor to the
Franklin Union Baptist Church at PO Box Drawer E, Worthington, PA 16262.
