Harold Leroy Arner

Harod Leroy Arner, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died February
24, 2012. He had a peaceful passing with his family at his bedside.

He was born in Slate Lick, January 6, 1937 , a son of Samuel Edgar and Alva
(Noble) Arner.

He was a 1954 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

He was an alumna of Davis and Elkins College in W. VA, where he received his
degree in electrical engineering. He gained a master's degree at the Air Force
Institute of Technology in Dayton, OH.

He served 22 years in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel - and was
decorated multiple times for his service in Vietnam. He was a crew member with
many types of aircraft. 

He was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, New Mexico Trout Fly Tiers,
and Habitat for Humanity. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Arner; son, Michael Arner and wife, Dasha
of Albuquerque; daughter, Rebecca Brown and husband, Dennis of Boston, MA;
grandchild, Caden Brown; brother, Russell Arner of Brunswick, OH; sister, Janet
Gray and husband Ron of Broadmax, VA; and friends.

The family is so very thankful to the staff of VistaCare Hospice, the
congregation of St. Luke, and family friends for their kindness and support. We
are most thankful to our Savior, Jesus Christ, who has cared for us and never
left us 

Services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012, 10:00 a.m., with a reception
afterwards at St. Luke Lutheran Church. 

Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke, 9100 Menaul
Blvd. NE or to Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity, Ste E, 204 San Mateo
SE, PO Box 8353.
