Thomas James Hawley

Thomas James Hawley, 77, of Kittanning, Pa., died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at
Armstrong County Health Center, Kittanning.
 
He was born in the local area on August 5, 1935, a son of the late Thomas
Jennings and Wilma E. (Claypoole) Hawley.
 
He was a 1953 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
 
He was employed for 35 years for the Leader Times and 10 years for the Area
Agency on Aging both of Kittanning.
 
An Air Force veteran from 1953 to 1957, he attended St. Paul's Community
Church.
 
He was an assistant deputy for the PA Game Commission for 23 years and he loved
hunting and fishing and riding his Rhino.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah K. (Dennis R.) Kline, of West
Kittanning, Pa.; grandchildren, Wayne Campbell, of Portersville, Pa., Shannon
(Lenny) Bullis, of Kittanning, McKenna McMillen, Allison Bullis and Ian
Campbell, and Michael (Lindsey) Gill, of Kittanning; great-grandchildren, Emma
and Dakota, of Kittanning; longtime companion, Ruth Fair, of Cowansville, Pa.;
brother, Homer L. (Susan E.) Hawley, of Lebanon, Pa.; sisters, Wilma J. (A.
Dale) Barnhart, of Kittanning, and Barbara L. (Samuel O.) Claypoole, of
Worthington; and several nieces and nephews
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Barry E.
Hawley; two brothers, Harlan M. Hawley on Feb. 14, 1983, and John Allen Hawley
on Nov. 4, 1969; and previous companion, Winnifred K. Gill.
 
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at
the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning and from 10 a.m. until time of
services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev.
A. David Meneely officiating.
 
Interment with full military honors in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington,
Pa.
