George Allison Bowser

George Allison Bowser Ford City George A. Bowser, 78, of Ford City, went to be
with his Lord and Savior Sunday, August 19, 2012, with his wife, children and
family friend, Kathy Boylstein at his side. 

Mr. Bowser was born June 17, 1934, in North Buffalo Township, to the late Arnold
"Dee" Bowser and Florence "Susie" (Smith) Bowser. 

George was a 1953 graduate of Worthington High School. He also attended Penn
State University in New Kensington, obtaining an associate's degree. 

George worked for a period as a mailman in Ford City, then obtained a job at PPG
Industries in Ford City, from where he retired after 29 years of service. He
worked as a quality control technician and supervisor. After retirement, he
worked at Valley Lines Bus, a job that he truly loved for a brief period. 

Mr. Bowser served his country in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of
sergeant. 

George also served his community by serving as a Ford City council member. He
had been active in the Ford City Little League baseball organization, where he
served both as manager and coach for several years. 

George Bowser was a member of the now disassembled First Presbyterian Church of
Ford City, where he served as deacon. When able, he currently attended the
Church of God on Woodward Avenue, Kittanning. 

He loved life, being with family and friends, fishing, hunting, camping and
reloading shells. He loved to read his Bible when he was well and was quick to
do a crossword puzzle. He was also known as a "Jack of all trades", able to
build and repair anything. He enjoyed cooking and baking and was famous for his
pies. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his skills and knowledge with his
children. 

George A. Bowers was married to Lydia A. (Baillie) Bowser, whom he said was the
"love of his life." George and Lydia had a wonderful life together for
approximately 31 years. 

George is survived by four sons, Todd Joseph, of San Francisco, Calif., Aaron
George and wife, Heather, of Irvin, Scot Baillie and partner, Katelyn, and Dane
William, both at home. George is survived by two daughters, Renee Carol
Constable, of McGrann, and Lori Suzanne Makua, of New Kensington. He is survived
by five brothers, Arnold C. and wife, Gloria, of Kittanning, Richard V. and
wife, Gale, of Kittanning, Thomas W. and wife, Linda, of Prospect, Chester A.
and wife, Jeannie, of Springdale, and Frank B. and wife, Carol, of Freeport; two
sisters, M. Joan Neale and husband, Finley "Shorty", of Girard, Ohio, and
Loretta F. Ward and husband, Jamie Ward, of Butler; mother-in-law, Dorothy A.
Baillie, of Ford City; brother-in-law, John Baillie, of Ford City;
sister-in-law, Margie Vensel and husband, David, of Marcellus, N.Y.; six
grandchildren, whom he cherished, Sasha, Janine, Allison (who has his middle
name as her first name), Anna, Hyler and Emmitt; two great-granddaughters, whom
he adored Alexandra and Myah; many nieces and nephews, whom he thought the world
of. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Theresa Gail
Bowser; father-in-law, William "Nap" Baillie; and sister-in-law, Linda Bowser. 

Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at
the MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, Ford City, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30
a.m. Thursday. Service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of God, Woodward Avenue,
Kittanning, with Pastor Gale Winning. 

Interment in Ford City Cemetery, Ford City, Pa.
