Lucille Evelyn Brown Wetzel

Heaven gained a special angel when Lucille Evelyn (Brown) Wetzel, 82, of Butler
passed away peacefully Sunday, December 27, 2015, at home, surrounded by her
family.

She was born in Donegal Township, Butler, Pa., the beautiful daughter of Elmer
R. and Lauretta D. (Brockway) Brown on July 9, 1933.

Lucy became the devoted wife to Kenneth Wetzel, who she married November 27,
1953. Ken preceded her in death, passing December 3, 2003.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Lucy previously worked at the Nixon Hotel in Butler. She was a past president
of the Lick Hill Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a housekeeper for the Dunes Hotel
in Las Vegas, Nev., where they lived for 14 years. More recently she was a
caregiver for Concordia at the Orchard in Butler. She was also a personal
caregiver for those that needed tender loving care in their own homes. Lucy
was a member of Muddy Creek United Presbyterian Church, where she belonged
to Cross and Crown.

We will forever remember our mother, mom, grandmother, grandma, Gram, Gigi
and every other endearment for her kind and gentle heart and thoughtful ways.
She never turned a cold shoulder and always saw the good in everyone and
everything. We are very proud of the woman she was and are blessed to have
had her in our lives for as long as we did. Our loss of this loving, gracious
woman is devastating, but we will carry on the qualities that we loved so
much about herand keep her forever a light inside of each and every one of
our hearts. Her famous saying was "God Bless Her Little Heart"; now, it's
our turn to say it, "God Bless Her Little Heart." May she shine in heaven
as bright as she did here on Earth.

Their once family of two grew to a family of seven, making her the loving
mother of David Wetzel (Anna), LouAnn (Linus) Hesidenz, Ronald (Patty)
Wetzel, Kevin Wetzel, who preceded her in death June 6, 1993, and Douglas
(Connie) Wetzel. They gave her the best gifts of all when they made her the
nurturing grandmother, "Gram," to seven grandchildren, Kristi Wetzel, Lacey
(Brian) Kummer, Douglas Wetzel Jr., Curt Hesidenz, Lindsay Wetzel, Samantha
Wetzel and Dillon Wetzel. She didn't realize there was any greater love
until she became the proud and caring great-grandmother, "GiGi," to six
great-grandchildren, Brady Bauer,Landon Hill,Lilly Wetzel, Khloe Kummer,
Bentleigh Hays and Kolton Kummer.

Lucy's heart opened once more, when she rescued her feline-friend,
"Kitty-Boy" and adopted him into the family.

She was also a dear sister to Alberta Byers, Mary (Edgar) Johns, Betty James,
Sandra Peters, Carl Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Robert R., Howard
L., Eugene R.,
sister, Loretta, infant sisters Sally and Wanda and half-sister Sharon
Forester.
