Gertrude Esther Craig Harriger
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gertrude Esther Craig
Harriger of North Tonawanda, New York, who passed away on December 31, 2021, at
the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends.
She was born on October 11, 1934, in Worthington, Pa., to Samuel and Mary A.
(Shetler) Craig.
She was a 1952 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Esther was a member of the Salvation Army in Tonawanda.
She retired from SUNY Buffalo where she worked as a Lab Technician.
She loved gardening or telling you how to garden.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Harriger (Diane) and Lori King; her
grandchildren, Amie Vrba, Corey Harriger, Amanda Corbett, Christopher DePorter,
Ashley King and Brandon Harriger; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Savannah,
Hailie, Michael, Ayden, Carter and Camden; and her pet Pebbles. She is also
survived by several nieces and nephews and life-long friends Beverly Caroll and
Betty Tower.
She was predeceased by: her parents, her husband William "Bill" Harriger; her
daughter Vicki Carlson; her grandson Micheal King and her sisters, Marcella
Umbaugh and Judith Roache.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patricia Allen, c/o Oishei
Childrens Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
