Donald Glenn Claypoole

Donald Glenn "Mousie" Claypoole, 82, Bellwood, Pa., died unexpectedly Sunday
morning, June 19, 2016, at UPMC Altoona, Pa.

He was born in Worthington, Pa., son of the late Wade Stanley and Vera Gladys
(Gaiser) Claypoole. 

On August 2, 1954, he married Roberta J. Blondeaux of Ford City, Pa. in
Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2000.

Don was a 1952 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. 

He was formerly employed as a milk tester with Blair County DHIA. He retired in
1996 as a lineman at PPG Industries, Tipton, Pa. after 23 years of service.

For 56 years, he was a member of Logan's Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood, where
he served as deacon and head usher. 

He enjoyed going on the boat with Jim and the rest of the family and also riding
his John Deere tractor and skid loader. Don was an avid fan of Bellwood-Antis
football and loved attending the games.

Surviving are three daughters: Susan L. (James) Forshey of Antis Township
(Bellwood area), Margaret A. (Greg) Davis of Blandburg, Pa., and Tina M.
(Robert) Rossman of Bellwood; two sons: Donald G. Jr. of Blue Knob, Pa., and
Richard P. of Bellwood; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three
sisters, Doris Louise Wagner of Sharon, Pa., Freda Alene Peechatka of the
Poconos and Shirley Ruth Higginson of Worthington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Wade
Stanley "Junior" Claypoole, Jr. on July 7, 1945 and an infant brother at birth
and three sisters; Bernice Elizabeth Williams on April 8, 1982, Dorothy Lee
Claypoole on March 3, 1983 and an infant sister at birth. One grandson, Steven
J. Claypoole.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, and from 10
to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc.,
Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral
home. 

Interment with military honors will be held at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood,
Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Don's memory be
made to Logan's Valley Baptist Church, 335 Main St., Bellwood, PA 16617, or to
Blair County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O. Box 114, Duncansville, PA 16635.
