Harold Eugene Swigart

Harold Eugene Swigart, 68, of South Fifth Avenue, Clarion, Pa. died Friday, July
5, 2002 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.

He was born September 1, 1933 in Worthington, Pa. to Paul W. and Norma B.
(Davis) Swigart.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Swigart retired after 22 years as a truck driver for the former R&H Trucking
of Clarion. He had also driven for a number of other companies.

An Army veteran, he served as an ammunition handler with the 7th Infantry
Division, 17th Regiment, from 1953 to 1955 in Korea.

He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Rimersburg, Pa. 

His other memberships were the American Legion Post 66 of Clarion, F&AM 277 of
Clarion and was union steward for a number of years at Local 538.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Clara (Blair) Swigart, whom he married
Dec. 31, 1955; one son, Ted Swigart of Herford, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs.
Dougas (Carol) Carnahan of Shippenville and Mrs. Rollie (Cindy) Wolf of Ohio;
four grandchildren, Shylo Bish, Kurtis Carnahan, Mason Wolf and Bobby Jo
Swigart; one great-grandchild; his mother, Norma B. Swigart of Worthington; two
brothers, Harvey B. Swigart and Edward P. Swigart, both of Worthington; and two
sisters, Mrs. John A. (Shirley L.) Rupp Sr. and Mrs. Michael L. (Marcia L.)
Trulick, both of Worthington.

He was preceded in death by his father, who died March 26, 2002; and one sister,
Iradell Simpson.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion-Forest
Visiting Nurses Association, PO Box 668, Knox, Pa. 16232.

Funeral services were held Monday in Clarion.

Burial in Herman Cemetery on Rimersburg-New Bethlehem Road.
