Edward Thomas Lenahan

Edward Thomas Lenahan, 67, of Seminole, Fla., died June 15, 2002, at Bon Secours
Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He and his wife, Mary Ann, were on their
way to her nephews graduation when Ed became ill.

He was born October 5, 1934 in New York (near Bolivar and Wellsville, New York
and just north of Shinglehouse, Pa.), to Helen Irene (Ebeling) Lenahan Olsen.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School. He returned to Shinglehouse,
Pa. and graduated from high school there. (His mother lived in Worthington for a
couple of years when she was married to John Carbis. Part of history: John's
parents, Samuel and Nellie Carbis owned and operated the Aluminum Ladder. Sam
Cramer started his business in the New Kensington area. John's sister, Helen,
married Sam Cramer. Cramer's took over the Aluminum Ladder. Moved the factory to
Florence, SC. Ed's mother and John moved to Ohio. Ed and his brother, John
"Jack" moved back to Shinglehouse, Pa., where their roots/relatives were.)

Ed was a Navy veteran. He had married while in the Navy and had his family with
him in Norfolk, Va.

He married Rhea "Kay" Van Epps of Shingletown, Pa. They had two children, Cheryl
and Jay.

Ed moved his family to Chicago, Ill. He retired as Vice President of the
Continental Illinois Bank and Trust of Chicago when the bank became insolvent.

By this time, Ed had remarried a girl that also worked at the bank, Mary Ann.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; a son, Jay E. (Victoria L.) Lenahan of
Carol Stream, Il.; a daughter, Cheryl A. (Michael E.) Sammer of Winfield, Il.
The mother of his two children, Kay, of Arlington Heights, Il.; a brother John
J. Lenahan of Santa Maria, Ca.

(A little know history: Ed's maternal grandmother, Nellie Helen (Hayes) Ebeling
was a sister of George "Gabby" Hayes an American character actor, the most
famous of Western-movie sidekicks of the 1930s and 1940s.)

Arrangements were by Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis, NY.
