Benny Dudek

Benny Dudek, 85, of Kittanning, died, Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Armstrong
County Health Center. 

He was born August 24, 1924, in Greensburg, to Walter and Rose (Leis) Dudek. 

Mr. Dudek was a member of the St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of
Kittanning. 

He served in the Navy during World War II. 

Benny was a 1943 graduate of Leechburg High School and then received his
master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he majored in education.
For more than 42 years, Mr. Dudek was a school teacher for the Armstrong School
District until his retirement in 1991. 

Benny was also a member of the Kittanning Vets, the BPOE Elks, the YMCA and a
member of PSERS (Public School Employees Retirement System). In his leisure
time, he enjoyed swimming and walking. 

He is survived by his wife, Elsie E. (Downing) Dudek, whom he married Dec. 27,
1947; three sons, Benny Dudek and Paula, of Kittanning, Michael Dudek and his
wife, Stacy, of Bedford, and Brent Dudek and his wife, Tiffany, of Kittanning;
three daughters, Andrea Beckwith and her husband, Harry, of Kittanning, Roxane
Claypool and her husband, Terry, of Greenville, Pa., and Robin Ford and her
husband, Terry, of Beeton, Canada; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Frank Dudek, of Kittanning, John Dudek, of Greensburg, and
William Dudek, of Natrona Heights; and three sisters, Dorothy Nally, of
Flushing, N.Y., Frances Faiola and her husband, James, of Plum, and Julia Seaton
and her husband, George, of Scottsdale, Ariz. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Walter, Stanley,
Henry and Andrew Dudek. 

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary, Our Lady of
Guadalupe, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, PA 16201 with the Rev. Raphael K.
Glinkowski, OSP, as celebrant. 

Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and  Cremation Services
Inc., Kittanning, Pa.
