Dorothy Faye Simms Crawford
Dorothy Faye Simms Crawford, age 83, formerly of Marianne Estates, died
peacefully on May 30, 2015, at Paramount Senior Living in South Hills,
Pittsburgh.
She was born on September 18, 1931 to the late Kenneth and Caroline B.
(Minteer) Simms in Dayton, PA.
She was a 1950 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa., where she met the love of her life and soul mate of 60 years, the late
Robert E. Crawford.
Her hobbies included gardening, reading, organizing and skiing, but her favorite
activity was being with Bob and her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Crawford Poyner and her husband, Raymond,
of Grand Rapids, MI, and Beth Crawford Smith and her husband, Andrew, of
Pittsburgh PA; two grandchildren, Neil Poyner, of Denver CO, and Caroline
Crawford Smith of West Lafayette IN; and her brother, James C. Minteer (Linda)
of Danville KY.
According to her wishes, there will be no visitation and memorial services will
be private at their "favorite place," their cottage on Lake Couchiching,
Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Robert E.
Crawford Scholarship, c/o Clarion University Foundation, 840 Wood Street,
Clarion, PA 16214. |
