Carl Eugene Shields

Carl Eugene Shields, 87, of Worthington, died on Thursday, September 5, 2019, in
his residence. 

He was born on June 25, 1932, in West Franklin to the late Albert Boyd & Grace
A. (Wray) Shields.

He was a 1950 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

Carl was a retired dairy farmer and a farm equipment and Belknap Auction
auctioneer. 

He was a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church. Carl’s greatest love
was God, his church, and his family. Sunday was "family day" and no work was
allowed. After church Carl enjoyed long drives to explore country roads. 

His feed business took him on long trips to Ohio and Lancaster, where he became
friends with Sam & Susie Stoltzfus. He enjoyed hauling feed for the farm and
trips to Lancaster.

Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory

Wife- Donna

Son- Douglas (Lara) shields of North Buffalo

Son- Daniel (Chris) Shields of West Franklin

Step Daughter- Melissa Palm of Ford City

Step Daughter- Valerie Matis of Kittanning Twp

Step Daughter- Shelly Francis of Hummelstown

Grandchildren: Nathan, Brandon, and Evelyn Shields

Great Granddaughter- Chloe Shields

12 Step Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Judith
(Tarr) Shields

Son- David Shields

Brothers- Raymond, James Arthur, Robert and infant brother William Shields.

Sisters- Margaret Claypool, Hazel VanDyke, Janet Shields and infant Helen Louise
Shields.

Family and friends will be received on Monday September 9, 2019 in the F. Duane
Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St. Worthington, PA 16262 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and
7:00- 9:00pm. 

Additional viewing will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2019 in the Worthington
Presbyterian Church from 10:00am until time of funeral services at 11:00am with
Rev. Robert Hindman officiating. 

Burial will follow in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
