James Kenneth Nichol, SR

James Kenneth Nichol, Sr., 90, of Eighty-Four, Pa., formerly of Worthington,
went home to be with his creator and Savior on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Jim was born in Worthington, on July 4, 1930. He was the son of the late Omer W.
Nichol and Ethel (Shearer) Nichol.

He atended Worthington West-Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Jim retired in September 1992, after a 40-year career as an over the road and
local truck driver.

He was a member of both Western Pennsylvania Teamsters Local Union No. 30 and
Southwestern Pennsylvania Teamsters Local No. 491. He worked for several
different companies from Kittanning to Irwin, Pa., to Wetterau INC in New Eagle,
Pa.

He was a former member of Worthington Baptist Church, Plum Boro Baptist Church
and he last attended and was a member of Fallowfield Baptist Church in
Charleroi, Pa.

He was also a member of Washington Cruisers. He loved attending Friday and
Saturday night’s cruise events with his wife, Dorothy, before she passed away,
along with son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Alice.

He loved looking at cars and was especially fond of Fords. Of course, any good
looking car that passed his way always caught his eye and deserved a thorough
once over.

He was proud to be the first of five generations of James K. Nichol’s. If you
ever wanted to know about any event that happened locally or in his personal
life from the time he was a teenager all you had to do was ask him. He seemed to
remember everything with a sharp and clear mind.

He was a loving family man who was kind hearted and quick to offer a smile. He
was a giving man who would offer a kind word to everyone he met. His faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ was very evident in everything he did to all his family
and friends.

His wife of 69 1/2 years, Dorothy (Lytle) Nichol, preceded him in death last
year.

He is survived by two children: James K. Nichol, Jr. (Alice) and Denise Allgood.
Other survivors include grandchildren: Robert Hollobaugh (Jodi), Carol Williams
(Kim), James K. Nichol, III (Michelle), Kenneth Hollobaugh (Robin), Rebecca
Nichol and Aaron Hollobaugh; 16 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great
grandchildren.

He was older brother to William “Bill” (Sonya), Robert “Bob” (Ilene) and
Barbara Hollinger, who all preceded him in death.
