Nora Winifred Hogg Stroup

Nora Winifred Hogg Stroup, 52, of 470 Portman Rd., died at 10:40 p.m., Friday,
October 7, 1983, at home, after an extended illness.

Born October 22, 1930, in Cowansville, she was the daughter of James F. Hogg and
Hattie (Lewis) Hogg.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa. A 1949
graduate of Butler High School, she was the first typing teacher at the Butler
YMCA.

Mrs. Stroup was formerly employed as bookkeeper at Homer Tack and Sons
Excavation, Butler.

Mrs. Stroup was a member of North Main Street Church of God, where she had been
a Sunday School teacher for many years.

On April 28, 1953, she and her husband were married on national television on
the "Bride and Groom" program.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas V. Stroup; two sons, Gregory J. Stroup of
Chicora and Darrin E. Stroup, at home; her father, James F. Hogg of Worthington;
a niece, Jacqueline Lee Campbell, whom she raised from infancy; and a sister,
Mrs. Donald (Rachel) Motter of Oil City.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie, 1943; a brother-in-law, Jack R.
Campbell, Oct. 3, 1967; a sister, Emma Hogg Campbell, May 29, 1968.

STROUP - Friends of Mrs. Nora Winifred Stroup of 470 Portman Rd., who died
Friday, Oct 7, 1983, will be received at the James A. Flick Funeral Home,
Worthington, form 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the funeral home, with the
Rev. Charles H. Sandstrom, associate pastor of North Main Street Church of God,
officiating.

Burial will be in Worthington United Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
