Richard Vernon Bowser

Richard Vernon Bowser, 90, of Kittanning, died on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in
the Kittanning Care Center.

He was born in Armstrong County, on November. 26, 1931, to the late Arnold D.
and Florence I. (Smith) Bowser.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, PA.

Dick was a carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.


He was a devoted member of the Victory Baptist Church, where he was a former
deacon, song leader, Sunday school teacher, trustee and youth group leader. 

He loved fishing, camping and working in his yard. He also wrote songs and sang
at church.

Left behind to cherish his memory includes: daughter, Sherrie A. (David) Oliver,
of Kittanning; son, Gregory J. (Linda) Bowser, of Ravenna, Ohio; daughter, Tonia
R. Bowser, of Elwood City; grandchildren: Andrew (Sarah) Bowser, Justin Oliver
and fiancée, Voni Souza, Josiah Bowser, Jonathan Bowser, Alaina (Josh) Norrick,
Robert Bowser, Ian (Chelsie) Brooks and Kyle Brooks and fiancée, Kylie McCrea;
10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Arnold C. Bowser, Thomas Bowser, Chester
Bowser and Frank Bowser; and sisters, Joan Neale and Loretta Ward.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years,
Gale Jane (White) Bowser, who passed away on Feb. 7, 2022; infant daughter,
Colleen Jane Bowser; and brother, George Bowser.

Family and friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, in the
F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St, Worthington.

Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, in the
Victory Baptist Church, 195 Pleasantview Drive, Kittanning, Pa. 16201, until the
time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ray Boltz officiating.

Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estate, Worthington, PA.
