Clarence Wade Pence
Clarence Wade Pence, 85, passed away on February 14, 2017. 76021.
Wade was born February 20, 1931 in Worthington, Pa. to Arthur C. and Josephine
M. (Platt) Pence.
He was a 1949 graduate of Worthington High School, Worthington, Pa. and then
attended A&P school at Detroit Aviation High School.
He went to work for American Airlines in 1956 as a Ticket Agent and shortly
after became an Aircraft Mechanic until he retired.
Wade and Shirley moved to Texas in 1981. His hobbies included music (Hawaiian,
Bluegrass, Country Western, Gospel), he played Steel Guitar, Rhythm Guitar,
Ukulele, Dobro, Harmonica, sang in church quartets and barbershop quartets.
Survived by wife, Shirley of 66 years, son, Larry and wife, Laura Pence,
daughter, Peggy and husband, Bill Reed, daughter, Lori and husband, Milt
Hoffman, son, Brian and wife, Sherri Pence; grandchildren, Vanessa Lippert, Noah
Pence, Meredith Knapp, Kevin Reed, Christopher Reed, Justin Hoffman, Victoria
Pence, April Pence; and 6 great grandchildren.
Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Josephine Pence, daughter,
Deborah and granddaughter, Brandi Hoffman.
Funeral Service: 11 am Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the First Assembly of God,
3800 Hwy 121 in Bedford, TX. Visitation: The family will receive friends from
6pm-8pm Friday, February 17, 2017 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport
Freeway in Hurst.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made in Wade's name to the building fund at
First Assembly of God DFW, 3800 Hwy 121, Bedford, TX.
