Yvonne Kathryn Bargerstock Swartzlander
Yvonne Kathyrn (Bargerstock)Swartzlander, 82, of Kent, Ohio, formerly of
Hammondsville, Ohio, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Kent Health Care Center
in Kent, Ohio.
She was born July 8, 1931, in Craigsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Mark
Monroe and Margaret Lulu (Kennedy) Bargerstock.
Yvonne graduated in 1949 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.
She worked as a school librarian and was a member of the Hammondsville United
Methodist Church, Hammondsville, Ohio where she taught Sunday School and was a
member of the choir.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband: Harry A. Swartzlander, Jr., whom she married
August 20, 1953; one daughter: LuAnn S. Swartzlander-Kraus and her husband
Kenneth E. Kraus of Glenview, Illinois; one son: Harry A. (Hap) Swartzlander III
of Kent, Ohio; one granddaughter: Annie Kraus of Glenview, Illinois; three
grandsons: Ben Kraus of Glenview, Illinois, Joshua R. Swartzlander and his wife
Jessica J. of Charlotte, NC, and Allen Swartzlander and his wife Aimee of
Medina, Ohio; three great-granddaughters: Jenna, Jolie, and Jillian
Swartzlander; and one great-grandson: Oliver Swartzlander.
In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her daughter: Beth
Louise Swartzlander, and two sisters: Dorothy I. Seyfert and Effie Emmaline
Gilmore.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013,
at the Roberts Funeral Home, Wellsville, Ohio with Pastor Dan Crowe of
Hammondsville United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631
Main Street, Wellsville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes take the form of
donations in Yvonne's name to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation on their
website at ulf.org.
