Walter Lee Jones

Walter Lee Jones, 74, of Sykesville died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at his home. 

He was born January 17, 1930 in Worthington to Arthur E. and Jessie (Hellum)
Jones.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa. 

Mr. Jones was employed by Preston Trucking for 43 years. 

He was a Navy Air Force veteran. 

He was a Protestant. 

His memberships included the Sykesville Fire Department and the National Rifle
Association. 

He resided in Furnace Run for many years and lived in Sykesville since 1971. 

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Jones of Syracuse, N.Y., Arthur "Bud" Jones
of Sykesville and Donald Jones of Hinesville, Ga.; two daughters, Larae Luzier
of Clearfield and Donna Roy and husband William of Sykesville; 11 grandchildren;
one brother, Roy Jones of Cheswick; and two sisters, Helen Hershberger of Ford
City and Margaret "Peg" Lasher of Kittanning. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gaylene (Burford) Jones; one
son, Robert Jones; and one grandson, Robert Yale. 

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until funeral
services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home, Inc., Sykesville with
the Rev. Jerrad Peterman officiating. 

Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Adrian, Pa. 

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Sykesville Fire
Department or the Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville.
