Joseph Michell Tancabel

Joseph Michell Tancabel, 50, of 441 Blackhawk Road, (Chippewa Township) Beaver
Falls, Pa. died Tuesday, May 27, 1980 at Beaver Falls Unit, Beaver Valley
Medical Center, Beaver, Pa., where he had been a patient for two days.

He was born September 9, 1929 in Worthington, Pa. to Michael M. Tancabel, who
preceded him in death; and Olga M. (Vlah) Tancabell, who survives and lives in
Bessemer, Pa.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

For 25 years he owned and operated Tancy Paving Contractors Co. in Beaver Falls.
Mr. Tancabel moved to Chippewa Township from  Bessemer four years ago. He was a
member of Bessemer Croatian Club and Croatian Center of Aliquippa, SNPJ of Enon
Valley. He was a former pro-baseball player with a Pittsburgh organization.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Highland VFW of
Chippewa.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Joseph M. Hawkins of
Marien, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Lisa Ann) Crowell of Norcross, Ga.; three
sisters, Mrs. Steven (Catherine J.) Hosak of Butler, Pa.,  Mrs. Edward G.
(Patricia Ann) Vallus of Youngstown, Ohio, and Mrs. Richard W. (Mary Ann)
Proctor of Bessemer, Pa.; and two brothers, Richard R. Tancabel of Youngstown,
Ohio, and John E. Tancabel of Bessemer, Pa.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 28, at Cunningham Funeral
Home of Bessemer, Pa.; and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at
Campbell's Funeral Home, 2628 Darlington Road, (Chippewa Township), Beaver
Falls, Pa.

A blessing service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Campbell's Funeral
Home (Chippewa Township), Beaver Falls, by the Rev. Nick Mastrangelo of St.
Anthony's Church, Bessemer, Pa.

Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Cemetery, Rochester, Pa.
