Richard Wendell Smith
Richard Wendell Smith, 72, of Worthington RD1, (West Franklin Township), died
Friday, June 20, 2003 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin
Township.
He was born July 21, 1930 to Milton and Twila (Anderson) Smith.
He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
Mr. Smith was retired from R&P Coal Mines. He previously worked at Penn Dixie
Cement and Lairds Crossing Tile Works.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna June Smith; two sons, Richard A. Smith of
Worthington and Robert D. Smith of Industry; two daughters, Mrs. John (Connie)
Fox of Worthington RD1 and Mrs. Steve (Darlene) Bowser of Lugoff, S.C.; 12
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin E. Smith of
Worthington and Dean Smith of Michigan; and one sister, Janet Stitt of Ford
City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandchild; and two brothers,
Howard Smith and Arthur Smith.
Friends of Richard W. Smith, 72, of Worthington RD1, (West Franklin Township),
who died June 20, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at
the F. Duane Funeral Home, Bear Street, Worthington, where funeral services will
be at 11 a.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
