Francis Agustus O'Donnell JR
Francis Agustus "Fran" O'Donnell Jr., 83, of McCandless Township (Allegheny Co.
Pa.), died peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
He was born August 8, 1929, in Allegheny Co., to Francis Agustus. and Nellie
(Kerrigan) O'Donnell.
He was a 1948 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Earlier in his life, Fran was an Army veteran in the Korean War. He later worked
as an auto body repairman and insurance adjuster before acquiring and operating
American Auto Repair in Bloomfield Area of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was a longtime hunter and Steelers season ticket holder, loved to water-ski
on the Three Rivers and participated in several bowling leagues.
He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Mary Jane (Steinmiller) O'Donnell;
father of Daniel F. (Pamela) O'Donnell; brother of James Patrick (Renee)
O'Donnell of West Mifflin, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph
Marcellus O'Donnell, May 10, 1998 and a sister, Mary Jane Cassidy, June 27,
1984.
Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at SIMONS
FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.
Friday in St. Teresa of Avila Church.
