Mary Elizabeth Janukitus Thimons
Mary Elizabeth (Janukites) Thimons, 83, formerly of Saxonburg, Pa., died Monday,
November 19, 2007, at UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born October 29, 1924, in Buffalo Valley (West Franklin Township) RR.
Worthington, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Peter P. and Sarah J.
(Spiker) Janukites.
She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
She was a homemaker.
Mary was a member of the Deer Lakes Community Church of the Nazerene, Saxonburg
Blvd, Tarentum, Pa.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bingo and watching soap
operas.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert L. (Linda K.) Thimons, of Pontiac,
Ill., Edwin P. (Deborah) Thimons, of Cranberry Twp, Pa., and Edgar H. (Elizabeth
E.) Thimons, of Tarentum, Pa.; five daughters, Phyllis J. (Ronald J.) Hess, of
(Slate Lick) Freeport, Pa., Lucinda D. (Joseph J.) Chupka, of Butler, Pa.,
Barbara A. Durci, of Sarver, Pa., Bonnie J. (Stephen L.) Reckhart, of Sarver,
and Sandra M. (John J.) Penk, of Russelton, Pa.; three brothers, Joseph J.
(Janet E.) Janukites, of Fenelton, Pa., James P. (Mary A.) Janukites, of Lodi,
Cali, and Peter P. (Helen E.) Janukites Jr., of Worthington; two sisters, Helen
J. Mowry, of Kittanning, Pa., and Stella (Ralph) Holtz, of West Sunbury, Pa.; 24
grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leonard Thimons, in 1972; two brothers,
William and George; and two sisters, Francis and Anna.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the FOX FUNERAL
HOME INC., 410 West Main St., Saxonburg, Pa. where services will be held 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, with her pastor, the Rev. Richard Wise, officiating.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart St. Peter Cemetery, West Tarentum, Pa.
