Martha Maxine Davenport Sliker Bowser

Martha "Maxine" (Davenport) Sliker-Bowser, 83, of Mushroom Farm Road,
Worthington, Pa., died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospice in
Cabot. Pa.

She was born July 27, 1929, in Volant, Pa., daughter of the late Raymond and
Dealores (Toy) Davenport.

She graduated with the (Class of 1947), from Worthington-West Franklin High
School, Worthington, Pa.

Maxine was employed by PPG Industries in Ford City Pa., and later at Castle
Rubber in East Butler, Pa., from where she retired in 1991.

A lifelong member of the Worthington Baptist Church, she enjoyed participating
in many church functions as well as activities with friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Wayne (Denise) Sliker, of Lady Lake, Fla.;
her daughter, Susan Lynn (Wayne) Meyers, of Troy, Ohio; grandson, Mathew Meyers,
of Lisle, Ill.; granddaughter, Kelly (Jordan) Lightner, of Hubber Heights, Ohio;
a sister, Nancy Joan Wagner, of Worthington; her second husband, Frank Melvin
Bowser, of Worthington, and his two sons, Jeffrey Melvin (Trudy) Bowser and
Vaughn Alan Bowser, both of Worthington.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Wayne
"Bud" Sliker on November 29, 1992; two brothers, Robert Wayne "Bob" Davenport on
May 30, 2004, and Jay Davenport; and her second husband's daughter, Valerie Hope
(Steve) Brocious on August 6, 2012.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the F.  DUANE
SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May
19, 2013, at the Worthington Baptist Church with additional visitation one hour
prior to the service. Pastor Barry Stewart will officiate with the Rev. Joseph
Simpson assisting.

Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
