Earl Calvin Bundy Jr

Earl Calvin "Boone" Bundy Jr., was called home on November 12, 2017, at his
home.  

He was born August 11, 1928, in Craigsville to Earl C. Bundy Sr. and Martha
Augusta (Fischer) Bundy. 

He was a 1947 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa. 

He was a long-time volunteer at ACMH Hospital and truly enjoyed being a patient
escort.  

He was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church serving as a deacon, trustee,
Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.  

He was a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War serving from 1947 until his honorable
discharge in 1952. He was a radio repairman on the front lines, an extremely
dangerous position, radioing back positions for air strikes during the war.  

He started his working career with West Penn Power in 1953 retiring in 1988 as
Lead Lineman with 35 years of service. 

He was an avid baseball player, claiming he hit the longest home run during a
game in Worthington. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the game. 

He loved watching the Steelers, Penn State and Pitt football games.  He loved
vacationing with his wife and children and his brother, Bill, in the Outer
Banks, NC.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Louise (Edwards) Bundy, whom he
married on May 11, 1956.  He is survived by four children, Tierney L. Simmons,
Earl C. Bundy III and his wife Pamela, Pamela A. Gladysiewski and her husband
Todd, Valerie L. Mechling and her husband, Keith. He is also survived by 11
grandchildren; Travis and Bethany Simmons, Tristin Wark, Joshua and LeeAnne
Bundy, Brittany and David Pore, Nina Gladysiewski, Alexander Gladysiewski,
Kathryn Gladysiewski, Mya Gladysiewski, Kezia Pennington, Leann Mechling, and
Kayla and Tyler Morris.  Twelve great-grandchildren complete the family circle
whom also survive him; Alice and Henry Simmons, Scarlett Wark, McKenna, Delaney,
Turner and Beckett Pore, Hudson, Sullivan, and Lincoln Bundy, Lexis Pennington,
and Nova Morris.  Of all 11 children born to his parents, two sisters remain;
Helen Raves and Maybelle Claypoole.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lloyd, Leroy, William, and
Robert Bundy; and his sisters, Winifred Ulisky, Betty Geopfert and Esther
Cataldi.  

Visitation will be at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington on Wednesday
Nov. 15, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Additional viewing will be held on Thursday
Nov. 16, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. in the Franklin
Union Baptist Church, Worthington Pa. with his church pastor Rev. Scott Jones
officiating.

Burial will follow at Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
