Loretta Jean Swigart Johnston

Loretta  "Jean" (Swigart) Johnston, 85, of Butler, Pa., passed away at 2:45 a.m.
Friday, June 7, 2013, in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

She was born July 8, 1927, in Worthington, Pa., to the late Homer L. Swigart and
Agnes (Gerboski) Swigart.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mrs. Johnston assisted her husband, who was the maintenance manager at the
Butler Arbors Apartments.

She attended the Homeacre Chapel, Butler. She belonged to the Ladies Extension
Club and various bowling leagues. She was a member of the Associated Artists.
Mrs. Johnston was a full-time grandmother.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clair Vern Johnston, who
she married on April 22, 1946; one son, Larry Lee Johnston and his wife, Amy
Katherine, of Norfolk, Va.; one daughter, Linda Suzanna Timblin and her husband,
Paul E., of Butler; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Clair
Johnston, one sister, Dorothy Mae Stitt Jurysta and three brothers, Homer
Swigart, Edmund Swigart, Richard Swigart.

Johnston - Friends of Loretta "Jean" (Swigart) Johnston, who passed away Friday,
June 7, 2013, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the funeral
home with Pastor Michael Charles of the Portersville Bible Church, Portersville,
Pa., officiating.

Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park, Butler, Pa.
