Julianna Joan Pieklo Holzwarth

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julianna Joan "Judy"
Pieklo Holzwarth (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), who passed away on March 19, 2024,
at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends.

Born Julianna Joan Pieklo on September 22, 1929.

She was a 1946 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School in Worthington,
PA.

She had a deep love of her dogs and her tiny dog Isis up until she lost her.

She loved to write poetry, read her religious books, and say her rosary daily.

She had been quite politically active for years, calling politicians regularly
and had so many letters to the editor published that the paper would call to say
they intended to publish her letter, but would have to wait because she had just
been published.

She went back to work later in life, taking the test for the state, and working
for them until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles; her sons Terence and
Charles; and daughter Margaret.

She is survived by her children Edward, Kathy (Dennis) Geisler, Thomas (Katie)
Holzwarth, Judith (Lyndon) Leffler, Jeannette (Martin) Kroll, James (Cristina)
Holzwarth, and Annette (Carl Gibbons) Sexton; and multiple grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.

Family and friends welcome Tuesday, March 26, 5PM-8PM, at 2630 West Liberty
Ave., Dormont, 412-531-4000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Tuesday at 10:00AM in St. Pius X Church, St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish.
