Betty Lou McGrady Rome

Betty Lou McGrady Rome, 67, of 310 Bonniebrook Road, Butler, died Saturday, June
22, 1996, at home following an illness.
 
Born October 3, 1928, in Winfield Township, she was the daughter of William P.
and Gertrude (Cypher) McGrady.

She was a 1946 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
 
She was most recently a homemaker, but had previously worked for 10 years each
at Magnetics and the Butler Mushroom Mine.
 
Mrs. Rome was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
 
Surviving are her husband, William S. Rome, whom she married July 31, 1950; a
son William J. Rome of Cabot; a daughter Mrs. John (Betsy) Grassell of  Orange
Park, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Anthony L. (E. Joanne) Betti of Crestline, Ohio,
Mrs. Herbert (Mary E.) Smith of Worthington, Mrs. Larry (Margaret A.) Magee of
Erie and Mrs. Ed (Nancy G.) McCullough of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John "Jack" Frederick
McGrady, Feb. 23, 1945, and a sister, Dorothy J Kerr, Jan. 7, 1975.
 
Friends of Betty Rome, who died Saturday, June 22, 1996, will be received from 7
to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.at Geibel Funeral Home, 201
E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10
a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Kurtz,
O.F.M. Cap., officiating.
 
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Fenelton, Pa.
 
Members of St. Mary Parish will conduct a vigil service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home.
